Greta Thunberg Removed from Swedish Parliament Climate Protest

Greta Thunberg, the young firebrand of climate activism, found herself in a tug-of-war with reality on Tuesday, March 12th. After a night of peaceful protest blocking the Swedish parliament, things got tense. Two officers, faces grim, approached her. They lifted her, a determined glint in her eyes, and carried her away, setting her down meters from the very door she'd hoped to hold shut with her message.

This wasn't the first rodeo for the 21-year-old. Since her solitary school strike in 2018 blossomed into a global movement, she'd faced detainment and removal from protests before. But the weight of inaction, she felt, demanded a stand.

Monday saw her and dozens of other young environmental warriors occupy the parliament steps. They were there to sound the alarm on the climate crisis, frustrated by what they saw as political paralysis. Their message: "Enough is enough!" resonated through the halls, even after they left on Monday afternoon, March 11th. But the urgency wouldn't be silenced, and they returned Tuesday morning, March 12th, determined to be heard.
