Wimbledon Wish? Zendaya and Tom Holland Serve Up Sweet Tennis Date
Forget Hollywood royalty, Zendaya and Tom Holland were just two lovebirds enjoying a day out at the tennis! They caught the BNP Paribas Open finals in Indian Wells, California, on March 17th, and even though they were there for the nail-biting match, they couldn't resist a little serenade.
A video from Tennis Channel showed them chatting and cheering alongside everyone else, but then a classic Whitney Houston anthem came on, and they were mouthing the words to "I Wanna Dance With Somebody" like the rest of us. Too cute!
Between sets, Tom, ever the fan, even met up with the winner, Iga Swiatek! He filmed their chat on his phone, and Iga posted a pic of her and Zendaya on her Instagram story, still a little stunned by the whole thing. "What just happened?" she wrote, then added, "Thank you Zendaya for being kind, funny and mindful." Sounds like Zendaya charmed everyone that day!
This tennis date comes right before Zendaya's new movie, Challengers, hits theaters at the end of April. Looks like she'll be trading red carpets for press tours again, just as the Dune one wrapped up. Being a superhero's girlfriend and a Hollywood A-lister must be exhausting!
Speaking of superheroes, Zendaya and Tom have always been pretty private about their relationship, which started after years of friendship and co-starring in the Spider-Man movies. Tom even said on a podcast that they keep things private because it's "the healthiest way to move on as a couple." But hey, even the most private couples can't resist a Whitney Houston jam session, right?
Zendaya did gush about Tom a bit though, during the Dune press tour. When BuzzFeed asked her which co-star had the most charm, she played it coy at first, then admitted her "Mr. Tom Holland" definitely wins. She said he has this natural charisma that helps draw people out, something she admires since she's a bit more on the shy side.
So, even though they keep things quiet, it's clear these two really care about each other. And who knows, maybe they'll share a few more dance breaks in public in the future!
